All you can eat buffet...

enough said.

12/20: It's tradition to take the Literacy Club kids to Old Country Buffet for Christmas. They look forward to it every year, so there's not backing out of this tradition! But who am I to complain, I think everyone knows I love to eat!! :-) I think we had about 50-55 mentors and kids there that night. Here's a few shots of the madness...

This was my attempt to get the whole group in the shot!

Unexpected Kansas trip

Matthew, Me & Griffin

11/26 - 12/4: If you keep up with all my happenings via this blog, you know that my Gma broke her hip the night before Thanksgiving and when she wasn't coming out of the anesthesia I hopped on a plane to be by her side. I had to be with my family. And although it wasn't the best of circumstances, I was so happy for the chance to see all of my family on that side... including ALL of my cousins! It's been YEARS since I've seen some of them, and although we weren't all there together at the same time, I was blessed to get to spend time with each one!!

And then there was Jordan... the joy in the midst of tears! This little guy was a lifesaver! He was a sure thing for smiles and laughter at the end of our long 12 hr. shifts at the hospital, day after day. The trip ended well, with Gma fully coming out of the anesthesia and showing signs of improvement each day! I was able to leave with confidence that she was going to be okay and that I would be able to see her again in 3 short weeks when I came back for Christmas!!!

Good 'ole Kansas wind!

Supervising Papa & Daddy hanging the Christmas lights!

One of my favorite traditions... eating pizza after putting up the tree!

Mr. Channing and I... Molly's little one!
I had to make sure I met him before Mr. Kashe made his entrance into the family!!

One of J's favorite toys!

Sneaking up to tickle Aunt Stacie

Star in the making!

I rode back to KC with my Uncle Wayne and spent the night with my sister and bro-n-law. They have a Wii, so we stayed up pretty late messing around with that thing!!! SO much fun!!! You can create your own characters... so here's my sis and I posing with our Mii's!!! :-)

Sun glasses and all!!

Turkey Day!!!

11/22/07: Following tradition, I spent Thanksgiving with the Craft family!! This year it was at Violet and Justin's house... and once again the holiday was filled with yummy food and good times with family, including our annual game of Trivial Pursuit. We also broke out a new one, Apples to Apples, which seems to be a new family favorite!!

I'm afraid I'm losing my touch, because I didn't take too many pics... but I did manage to get a few!
