Hotlanta...

was flippin' cold! LOL! I recently went to Atlanta, GA for 6 days, courtesy of Dr. Martens, to work a shoe show. Minus the cold weather, and the battle with my nose and sinuses... it was a fabulous trip!! :-) I traveled with 2 co-workers from P-town and then a salesman from Atlanta worked the show with us, as well. I enjoy being at the shows and meeting my accounts... so for me, it was a fun little get-away! Amy and I got in on Thursday evening and headed to a cool little mexican restaurant. Then Friday, Chris flew in and after setting up, we headed down to Buckhead to the ESPN Zone. I love that place!! Kettely took me there when I visited her about 5-6 yrs. ago!!! TV's everywhere... with sports on every single one of them!! They even had individual monitors in EVERY stall in the bathroom, so you wouldn't miss a beat.... it was crazy!!! It was the NBA All-Star weekend, so we chilled there for quite awhile and watched the Rookie v. Sophomore Challenge... good times!!

ESPN Zone... a.k.a. heaven?! :-)

We got back to the hotel around 1opm and I headed right back out! My friend from Portland, Nina was doing her PA rotation in South Carolina, and her and her boyfriend just happened to be coming to ATL the same weekend I was there... so they came and picked me up and we went out for dessert and chatted for a bit. It was SO cool getting to see her and Habib... and see them actually interact as a couple... and not just chasing kids around and passing out tokens at Chuck E. Cheez!! :-)

Saturday night after the show we headed out with some friends from another company and had some fru-fru Mexican food... like lobster enchiladas... it was all delicious! Then we headed down the street to an Irish Pub to check out a local band. It was a lot of fun and the company was quite entertaining!

Meanwhile, back at the office... I came back to reality on Wednesday morning and as I rounded the corner, said my hello's, this is what I found... an empty cube. Where once my cubie layed... was now a blank canvas with nothing in it. "What the..." I quickly scan to my left to see all my stuff, in the EXACT same place... just one cube over. I was cracking up!!! Welcome to my world.

They did a great job!! They put everything back in it's correct spot... and as you can see... I have a LOT of crap!! I'm slowly but surely getting everything back to my original spot. It's been about a year since we've pulled anything... so I guess it was due time! Last year we super-glued EVERYTHING down on Tari's desk... she still has stuff glued down to this day! And then before that, we wrapped one of our c0-worker's entire office with aluminum foil. We left nothing untouched. His lamp, Kleenex box, pencils, folders... EVERYTHING!

If any of you watch The Office on NBC... which we are all obsessed with... you'll kinda understand where we're coming from. Just yesterday, one of our co-workers left his cell phone on his desk when he left for lunch. Which, we've learned NOT to do because of HIM... so we took advantage and hid his phone above the lights over his cubicle. Then called him when he got back... he was searching in the show room, around his desk... it took about 3 calls before he figured out it was above him. Then he couldn't get it back down... he ended up pushing it farther, which warranted another phone call!! He finally got it down... but by that time we were all crying on the other end of the floor from laughter!! The fun times never end here at DM!!

Entertainment on a Friday night...

Boy, do I love these girls!! Justin & Violet went out for Justin's bday and so I got to spend the evening with the girls... and they are just too cute!!! Concert week comes to an end...

Sara & I

with The Colour as the grand finale! It was even better the 2nd time around!! I would say Sara and I had a great spot on the floor... but as the night went on, someone's deoderant went bye-bye and it was pretty horrible. Boys were fleeing, and I was just praying they didn't think it was us! But regardless of the stinch... the music was FABULOUS!! I'm assuming most of you don't know who they are, but they kinda sound like The Doors... a mellow, psychedelic rock... I don't know how to explain it... I just know I love it!! Especially the sleigh bells!! HAHA!!!

iknowkungfu

The 2nd stop of Sara & I's whirlwind concert week was at the Ash Street Saloon for the iknowkungfu concert on Wednesday. My friend Justin (Violet's hubby) is the drummer, and the other members are Dave and Bill, 2 of his best friends. The concert was fabulous! It's been about 3-4 yrs. since they've performed b/c they were all busy with their families, going to law school, etc. so it was fun to see them back up on stage!! And I have to admit... it was kinda funny to see Justin up there rockin' out on the drums... when I've been so used to seeing him in daddy-mode with the girls for the past 4 yrs!! But Sara and I had a blast... and now we only have 1 more to go!!!

Me rockin' my one-of-a-kind iknowkungfu shirt!

Pre-concert craft time

Nothing like makin' some valentines with the Craft girls before heading out to a hip hop concert!! :-) Violet, Sara and I had tickets for a concert Monday night but it didn't start until 8pm so I hung out at the Craft house with the fam until it was time to go and quickly got roped into working on valentines with the girls. Although they were more focused on making valentines for themselves, it still proved to be good times!!!

Me & my girls!

Concert Mania Day 1... The Roots!!

So my friend Sara and I have decided to celebrate our 30th b-days all year long. This includes doing something fun... breakfast at work, a concert, sporting event, happy hour or whatever our little hearts desire... on the 30th of each month. February is trying to rob us of our b-day joy since there's only 28 days, but we are fighting back and celebrating in a special way... and probably killing ourselves in the process... but we're treating ourselves to 3 concerts in 5 days!!!

Our concert-fest started last night when Sara, Violet and I headed to the Crystal Ballroom for a sold-out Roots concert!! I saw them a couple years ago when I was in Vegas... and they were just as fabulous last night!! I absolutely love these guys!!!!

Progressive Dinner

On Saturday, a couple of my friends and I hooked up a simple progressive dinner so we could basically get up in each other's business! :-) We haven't all been together for awhile and there's been decorating going on and Ginean actually just moved to a new house, so we had to check out her new crib!! And why not eat along the way, right?! We started at Andee & I's crib for a salad... then headed to Ginean's for the main dish... then finished up at Stacey's for dessert!! Good friends, good food, good times!!!

Precious Jasmine!

She is just too cute for words!!

I have no idea...

Leaving Ginean's... bring on that dessert, Stacey G.!!

The night was a success... so much in fact, that we didn't even leave Stace's house until midnight. That made 7:45am service a chore, but it was well worth it!! My stomach muscles always get a workout when I'm with this crew... the comedy is never-ending!! I love these girls!!

Someone please pinch me...

because I cannot believe she's a teenager!!!

Oh my goodness! It seems like just yesterday that I was paired up with this shy, little 6 yr. old named Alex in the Mt. Olivet parking lot on our way to the pumpkin patch and now she's 13!!! It blows my mind!! Through the years we always celebrated her b-day with another girl in the program, Kylie, who is now 12. Their b-days are 1 day apart!! So this year was no different and we spent the day ice skating, shopping and chowin' down on McDonalds!! Apparently, some things never change!!

Fun times!! Here's to the teenage years!!
