After dinner...

we let our food settle a little before breaking out in a friendly game of volleyball, or better known as, fetch the ball out of the tree (pics will be added to this post soon)... and after wearing ourselves out with that, we busted out the homeade ice cream, bubbles and another few rounds of Hillbilly Golf ...

Madison... showing us how it's done!

This was the cutest thing... I was chasing kids around, taking pics, of course, and I heard little voices singing softly "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star". I walk towards the voices and see Abby & Conner laying in the sand box, looking up at the stars, singing... it was the cutest thing ever!

Then like any good, older sister... Madison followed me and with her hand on her hip, she instructed them that they weren't supposed to be in the sand... :-)

Ethan & Madison... starting to lose their energy

Jordan still had enough energy to mow, apparently

Jordan, kickin' it with the boys...

until he decided to run away with part of the game and hide in Grammie's lap!

Jordan & Uncle Steve... hiding from Daddy

1, 2, 3... GET DADDY!!!

Do it again...

One more time...

Just one more time...

Meanwhile, inside... Ethan is starting to wind down
And Seth & Kaden are losing steam quickly, as well!

Aaahh... bedtime. Day 1... SUCCESS!

Playing works up an appetite...

So let the dinner bell ring!! Master Chef Chris Timken brought a HUGE Traeger Grill home from work and spent all day Friday smoking pork and turkey for our dinner on Saturday... and it was fabulous!!! He did such a fantastic job!!! So without further delay... let's pray...

Kiddie table has a whole new meaning!

Poor Seth... he's even too little for the kiddie table!

Newest generation of Timkens

It seems like just yesterday when my cousins and I were running around the old farm house, riding the scat cat, trying to figure out what room Gma just told us to put our stuff in... north, south, what? And now here we are, in our 30's or at least very close, and now we're spending our time chasing the newest generation!! Boy how times change...

Brian & Kasey... Kaden & Conner
Kevin & Angie... Madison, Abby & a new addition coming in October!

And unfortunately, Bob & Jill's grandkids weren't able to make it from TN... but I want to give them love anyway!! They were definitely missed!!!
Dave & Jen... Mason & Jackson

After lunch...

the afternoon was filled with conversation, naps, pool-time and the oh-so-popular game of Hillbilly Golf...

This is what they're throwing at, by the way. .. different pts. for each rung.

As the women chill inside with air conditioning!

Let the reunion begin!

As we handled last minute preparations in the morning, Timkens started rolling in around 11 or so, and once everyone was accounted for, we headed to Pizza to cause havoc to the buffet!

As you can see... there was a lot of "HELP" going on!

Aah... the good 'ol plains of KS

So my last night in Vegas left me with 2 whoppin' hours of sleep before grabbing a taxi, chillin' in an empty airport @ 6am, flying to Kansas City, just to have another 4 lovely hrs. in the car! Luckily I got some sleep on the plane, in fact, I don't even remember taking off. And as I suspected, I was so excited to see my sis, that we chatted the entire way home to Hays! The reunion didn't start until Saturday, so it was just our immediate family hangin' out on Friday night. Tiff and I got there around 5pm and Matt, Steph & the boys showed up later in the evening. I love my family...

Talk about 1 happy grandma

The grass is always greener...

What does...

LeBron James, Carmello Anthony, Shane Battier, Jermaine O'Neil, Coach K (Duke), Coach Jim Boeheim (Syracuse), several famous sports broadcasters have in common... they were all chillin' at the Wynn hotel/casino in Vegas as Alison and I were hanging out!!! Oh, and you can add Dean Cain and AJ from the Backstreet Boys to that list as well. I love this city!! I was in heaven, and I'm sure there were some other ones that I should have recognized, but those were the main ones! And NO, I didn't go ask for their autographs... and NO I didn't have my camera. I know, shocker! We also saw Master P at the show... he walked right by our booth! But I was about the only one who knew who he was. For those who are reading and don't know... he's a rapper.

I went to Vegas for 4 days for work. Craig sent me to work the front desk and help with scheduling and all that fun stuff. It was a blast!! I was able to see chat with people that I've met before, as well as meet a few new faces to put with the calls that come in on a daily basis!! It was fabulous!! We stayed at the Venetian, which was beautiful, dined at wonderful restaurants, plus, you gotta love the night life after the show closes...

Monday, I got in early and met up with Alison for awhile before heading to dinner at Nobu with an account and some co-workers. After dinner, I ditched them and headed to the Zappos pool party at the Hard Rock. Luckily, I ran into one of our old reps and he pointed me in the direction of my fellow party-going co-workers. It was pretty awesome... they had some crazy entertainment, including girls spinning by their hair, and 2 midget KISS impersonators... which completely freaked me out, for numerous reasons!! But overall, I have the best co-workers in the world and they're all the entertainment you need!!

Tuesday night was the Gladys Knight and Lionel Richie concert, which was a fun blast from the past! I didn't know too many of Gladys Knight's songs... but we were all "Dancing on the Ceiling" when Lionel hit the stage!! It was great!!!

Wednesday, I hooked up with some of the guys at the pool and ate dinner with them, before heading to the Wynn to chill with Alison. That's when we saw all the b-ball boys!! :-)

Thursday, I only put in a half day at the booth before being ordered to go to the pool by the VP of Sales. Like I could disobey?! :-) I had a great lobster dinner with Mark & Todd (reps) and then we joined a few more co-workers for cigars and cocktails. The chocolate martinis were awesome and my abs hurt from laughing... I love this job!!! We closed down the bar, and we headed to the slot machines. However, watching people lose $$ can only entertain you for so long, so I was off to my room to pack and get a few hours of sleep, before heading to the airport to meet up with my sis in KS...

Apparently...

my posts & pics from KS in mid-July are going to have to wait. I made it back to Portland for only 6 short days before flying back out to Vegas, then once again, the beloved KS for a Timken reunion. SO... I'm just going to have to come back to it... considering I had over 1000 pics from the week, I'll need some time to catch up. So in the meantime... on to my latest Sin City and Hays, America adventures...
