All I wanted was a Chalupa...

Dang it Blazers! I mean really... how hard is it to get 100 pts!!! Ugh. Oh well, I got to see Carmello Anthony and my favorite team the Nuggets, so the night was well worth it... even without the win or more importantly, the free Taco Bell Chalupa!!

Bowling Ballerinas

Okay... truth be told, the "Luau" on Saturday was more for the adults than it was for Mia's b-day. And although she raked in the presents, she's at the age where she wants all of her little friends there and the whole adult BBQ doesn't cut it anymore. So her and about 9-1o of her little friends, all dressed in their favorite leotards and dance skirts, provided by Violet, took over the local bowling alley on Sunday!! It was the cutest thing ever!! Their attention span only lasted for about 6-7 frames, and before you knew it, they were running in front of other lanes and playing Ring Around the Rosy! This behavior could be due to the fact that it took about 5 minutes for each ball to roll down the lane... and that's only if it didn't come to a complete stop halfway to the pins!! Fun times!! Even Cannon (a.k.a. Sumo Muscle Baby) got in on the action... picking up a bowling ball and carrying it quite a ways before Daddy took it away!! Unbelievable!!!

I can't believe it...

Mia Quinn is 4!! Well, as of April 7th anyway!! Every year Violet and Justin throw a huge BBQ for Mia's b-day and this year was no different!! Depending on who you talked to it was either a Luau or a Lilo & Stitch party... the food was great, drinks were tasty and friends and family were everywhere!! The weather wasn't as cooperative as it has been in the past, but the tiki torches stayed lit, so it was all good!!!

B-day Princess

Even Griffin was sportin' the Luau theme!

Violet even thought ahead and supplied me with a date!

Aunt Stacie scored big time with PINK Barbie clothes!

Yes, she did this all by herself!

Aaahh... isn't that sweet!

Can ya say... too much sugar?

Good Luck with bedtime, Mom and Dad... Aunt Stacie is out!

Quick glimpse...

of what my Thursday nights are like at Literacy Club!! :-)

It's a bird, it's a plane...

Nope... it's a 50's diner just a few feet from my cubicle!! :-) Here at work, the powers that be, gave each floor a budget to improve the atmosphere on their floor... to make it more inviting, represent the character of our brand, bring the company together, etc. So depending on which floor you're on... you could hear the sounds of TV, folks playing the guitar, or the excitement of a foos ball game!! Well, our floor has the reputation for filling the entire building with the smell of bacon on any given day... along with the pancackes, eggs, toast, juice, etc. to go with it! We like to eat, what can I say! Well, the UK execs were here for a couple of them and were really impressed, so it was only fitting that our floor hooked up a diner, equipped with diner tables & accessories, cooking supplies and a juke box!

We had our grand opening yesterday with the first Thirsty Thursday of the new fiscal year!! Special for the day... McDonald's cheeseburgers, chips, pretzels and Root Beer floats!! It was definitely a hit!! Only at Dr. Martens... dang, I love my job!!

Nothing like knitting and a lil' Oprah to wind down after a great party!!

Go Blazers!

Miss Andeelynn has the hook up! One of her vendors hooked her up with 10th row tix for the Blazers games against Houston last night and the Nuggets game on Monday!! So guess who got to roll along!! ME!!! We had a blast and they won... bonus!!! I wore red in order to support the Blazers, not thinking about Houston's colors being red... whoops!! I did cheer on the Blazers, but I have to admit I was excited to see Luther Head starting for the Rockets... he played for Illionois last year! And oh my goodness... Yao Ming is HUGE!!! I didn't get any good pics of my favorite Blazer, Juan Dixon, and I know you're all disappointed, so check back after Monday's game!! Anyway... fun times in the life of Kansas!!

See what I mean?! HUGE!!

Drive-ins DO still exist!!

Believe it or not!! Violet took her 2 oldest kids... Mia and ME to the drive-in on Saturday! We all wore our pj's, brought pillows & blankets, stopped at Safeway to fill up on TONS of snacks and then headed to the movies!!! We watched Shaggy Dog, which actually had some good moments and then Eight Below. Lucky for Mia, she slept thru that one... me on the other hand, stayed awake and cryed the entire way through. Violet had to keep reminding me that it was a Disney movie, so it had to end up okay! I think my "senstivity" is growing more intense with age. Or, according to Lily the Tinman, (no heart) I'm just a big cry baby!! So what if I've been known to tear up at meaningless teeny-bopper TV show a time or 2?? :-) ANYWAY... back to the drive-in. Eight Below is a GREAT movie, but it definitely pulled on the heart strings. I'm all good when people get shot up and killed... but don't hurt the animals dang it!! Plus the real bonus... Paul Walker is just HOT!!

Mia taking the wheel at Safeway!

We got home around 1:30am, that's with moving the clocks forward, and 6am came REALLY early for church in the morning. But it was all good b/c I didn't have to teach and I could come home and sleep. Or so I thought! I got a voicemail during church saying they needed me, b/c the other teacher wasn't able to teach. Ugh. So after stalling a bit, I head to church to figure out that although I remembered to change my clock in my room... NONE of the other clocks got changed in the house, so I was an 1hr. late for church. But it all worked out b/c a mother stayed to volunteer in the class, and I got there just in time to lead praise & worship for the whole group and then take over my class and teach the lesson... so once again, God is good!!! And there was still enough time to take a quick nap after church before heading out to the 'Couve for church Sunday evening (single's ministry)!!

Another fun & eventful weekend in the NW!!! Stay tuned for pics from the Ballerina Bowling Party coming up this weekend!! Mia is turning 4!!! The weekend should provide some great picture opportunities, I'm sure!!
