We are family...

My cousin Stephen rolled thru town on Saturday with yet another band! This is the 4th time he's been thru, and it's the 3rd band I've seen so far. He said this one would be my favorite... and he was right, they were really good! They're called Woven Hand... you should check them out. Anyway, I showed up before the 2nd band was about to go on, Calla (another good band, from what we heard backstage anyway) so we grabbed some drinks, I met a few of the guys and then we chatted a bit and waited for Sara to join us. When Sara got there, we headed backstage again and just sat and chatted about life, boys, girls... all that good stuff. One part of me is weirded out that we're all grown up, having grown-up conversations instead of playing in the store at Gma & Gpa's house... but I'm so glad that we have such a cool relationship!! And I'm so glad Sara is an awesome friend and totally digs hanging out with all these crazy bands!!! I have the BEST FRIENDS EVER!!

Anyway, when it was time for Woven Hand to take the stage, we went out on the floor and grabbed a spot towards the back so Stephen could go back and forth from the merch booth and we enjoyed yet another concert!!! As always, it was great to see Stephen again!! And I can't wait for him to come back this summer!!

Another busy weekend in P-town...

So Friday was 3/30... therefore, it was Sara & I's monthly b-day celebration!!! We're giving our 30's a ROCK*STAR start... celebrating on the 30th of each month for the entire year!! We started the night out at a new bar down the street from Dr. Martens called Blitz. It's a great place for good, cheap happy hour treats! After Blitz we caught the Max over to the Rose Garden for a Portland Lumberjax game... they're our professional Lacrosse team. Neither one of us had ever been, nor did we know anything about the sport... but it was good times! In fact, we ended up sitting right behind our old Dr. Martens CFO, who graciously provided us w/ a beer and plenty of laughs!! The lacrosse game was pretty cool... we won, so that's always good... and the players even threw in a little fight in for our entertainment!! It was quite comical... and looked staged, if you ask me!!

Anyway, Roberto met up with us during the last quarter and then all 3 of us headed to the Red Star downtown for Matt's surprise b-day party! (Matt is Sara's bro) We chilled for a bit until the b-day boy showed up and leave it to me to pretty much screw up the surprise! hehe! Roberto, Sara and I had camped out at a table right by the door... and while Sara was off chatting, lo & behold, who walks in the door... and who'd he see right off the bat... that's right, me! SO... he came in gave me a huge hug, then immediately saw Sara's coat & purse and asked if Sara was there... I smiled and he finally got pointed in the direction of all his friends! I felt bad, but it really was comical how it all went down! Sara tells the story SO much better!! Anyway, we chilled there for a bit, then headed to BarCode to dance the rest of the night away. Sara & I's feet were killing us the whole walk back to DM's... but it was definitely good times!!!

You don't even know...

how much i LOVE these girls!!!!!!! And I can't believe how big they're both getting!!! We had a gorgeous spring day yesterday, so I met up with the Craft family at the park and then headed back to the house for some family time!! Current favorite game... Time-out! It's a fun one... let me tell ya!! :-) But the best part was when Cannon pouted when I had to go... she came up and told me she didn't want me to leave!! HEART-BREAKER!! Good thing it was their bedtime... otherwise there's NO WAY I would have been able to leave!!

Dang it Oregon...

Okay, so I absolutely love it out here, right?! Normally I don't mind the rain because everything is so green & gorgeous as a result of it. And the summers are beautiful... blah, blah, blah...

but when you are walking 7 blocks to the club, while it's downpouring rain, with no umbrella... that kinda sucks. And herein lies the "wet-dog" look for my friend Shaun's b-day party!! Fun times!!

My friend Heather and her husband, Doug, moved to Boise about 2 yrs. ago, and they are expecting their first child in June... woo hoo!!! So they headed back to P-town for the weekend to have a baby shower for the friends and family still in Portland!! She came in to the office on Friday and Sara and I took her out for lunch... and then Sara, Tari, Summer (Tari's daughter) and I all headed out to NE Portland for her baby shower Saturday morning! It was so great to see her and Doug again... and I can't wait for the arrival of their little girl!!!

Because that's just how we do...

So my friend Sara cleaned, organized and re-decorated her cube this past week... so it only seemed right to have an open house!! She hooked up a couple bottles of wine, some cheese & crackers and invited some friends in the building! It turned out awesome... we had about 15 people stroll thru... it was hilarious!! :-)

Just in case I haven't mentioned it lately...

I LOVE Mat Kearney! He came back to P-town for the 2nd time this year, so Sara and I sacrificed our Thursday night for some Mat Kearney action!! LOVE HIM!!! Talk about a great day... KU defeated S. Illinois to advance to the Elite 8 and then Mat Kearney... what more could a girl want!!!

March Madness

Lily surprised me and decided to stay an extra day, so I took Friday off and God blessed us with a gorgeous day!!! We headed down to the waterfront and ran about 4 miles and then chilled at the house for a bit before heading downtown to meet up with friends for happy hour and a little March Madness action!! We chilled under the tent and watched bball on a big, blow-up TV screen and altho they didn't play my KU game, I was cool b/c I was surrounded by some of my favorite people, good food, tasty beverages and the sounds of hoop action all around me!! Good times!!

Yo Quiero, Taco Bell?!
