Scenery pics!

We left Tuesday morning around 9am and had crazy wind and blowing tumbleweeds for almost 4 hours straight!! I've never seen so many tumbleweeds in my life!! The picture above is a mountain of them that got tangled together at an overpass... it was insane!!! But kinda fun dodging them at the same time!!!

Now THIS is wind...

Not sure if you can tell or not, from our clothes being pressed to our bodies... but we were blessed with 40 mph winds on Monday. So Chris was finally able to experience Kansas to it's fullest!!! After a big birthday breakfast for Dad, we took Chris out to the old Fort to walk around. The buildings were closed, but we were able to walk around and peak in the windows. I swear the wind almost blew Mom away a couple of times... but it was nice to get out of the house and walk around! We ran a few errands and then picked up Jordan from daycare and went down to the soda shop to treat Dad for his birthday!! Before dinner, Chris and I headed down to Grandma & Grandpa's to visit for an hour or so, then met up with the rest of the crew at the Q for some burgers. I had been looking forward to corn nuggets for months, only to find a sign saying they were OUT!!! I was not a happy camper. Krisson asked them for a 2nd time when we were ready to order, and told her my sad story of traveling 1500 miles for them... so the gal went in the back and double-checked and they had 4 left!!! I love Krisson!!! :-) They totally fried them up for me and although it was hard, I did share one with Chris!! LOL!! I really need to find some of those out here in the NW!!! Mmm... delicious!!!!!

He's just a little obsessed with Spiderman! :-)
He was spraying Chris with webs from across the table! LOL!!

Happy Birthday Dad!!! (a day early!)

Sunday morning we all went to church and unfortunately, my pastor was ill, so I wasn't able to introduce him to Chris. But Rachel, his wife, was there... ready with questions!! LOL!!! After church we went to the house for dinner. Grandma and Grandpa came up and we all celebrated Dad's birthday (a day early) while everyone was still there! Mark & Tiff, and Matt, Steph & the boys all left shortly after lunch and left the rest of us to watch (and sleep through) the KU game! It was another wonderful, lazy Sunday afternoon at the Timken house! And then that evening Chris, Krisson, Chris & I all headed to the video store to pick out a movie. It was a little too violent for me, so I ended up watching Jordan's Spiderman cartoon most of the time!!

It melted my heart to see my nephews warm up to Chris so much!
They absolutely adored him and that just made me love Chris even more! :-)

I think they liked my iPod Touch!

Hey, hey, hey! The gang's all here...

Tiff & I sharing the bathroom - just like old times!

Friday when we arrived, it was just Mom & Jordan, and then Dad & Chris rolled in a little later after work. Tiff and Mark got in late, so we didn't see them until the morning, and Matt, Steph, Ethan and Seth rolled in around lunchtime, so Chris had a staggered introduction to the Timken clan, which hopefully was a little less overwhelming!!! But Chris fit in perfectly and my family absolutely loved him... like there was any doubt!! :-)

I love this one! Seth's face is priceless!

Despite the weatherman's predictions of thunderstorms, God blessed us with blue skies and sunshine on Saturday! We all had to laugh, though, when Chris thought it was pretty windy. We all tried to explain that it was nothing more than a little breeze in our world!! He would experience true KS wind on Monday with lovely 40 mph winds!!! But anyway, Saturday we headed to Frontier Park after lunch and played some Frisbee Golf. Chris was brave enough to fish out a couple of discs around the stepping stones (none which were mine, by the way!) but unfortunately, he lost his disc a few more holes down with no chance of retrieval. It probably disintegrated the minute it touched the water... ick.

Chris bonding with my nephews! They LOVED him!!

They were in attack mode at this point!

Ethan, Jordan & Seth

Jordan was picking flowers for his mom! Too sweet!!
(Krisson was in Omaha but came back to Hays that evening)

Yikes!!! I was scared... but thanks to Chris's encouragement,
I tried and actually made it across!!!

Again for the record... this was NOT my frisbee!!! :-)

SNOWBALLS!!! My favorite!!!!

Dad was making homeade ice cream!! Yum!!

A good aunt probably would have stopped this...

The big boys played Hillbilly Golf...

... and the little boys played Washers!

This was a common site during the weekend...
the boys in Chris's lap playing games on the iPhone!

Jordan quickly picked up on Chris's sayings... "Nice"!!!
It was the cutest thing ever!!
