Craft girls!!!!

The Craft girls came up for a visit during their spring break! It didn't take long before the house was taken over by pink frills, artwork (for sale, of course!) and stuffed animals galore, which was a little tough for Gracie to understand they weren't for her! I had to work during the days, so they explored the marine center and the pottery place, and then in the evenings we hung out, shopped for curtain fabric and watched movies! It was so great having them here!!! They absolutely LOVE "Crazy Uncle Chris" as they've lovingly named him! And he was such a trooper, he's probably never watched so many girly cartoons in his life!! Haha!!! :-)

Home Ownership

With an amazing, generous offer from Jack & Barbara, Chris and I made the decision to plunge into home ownership and purchase the house we were renting from them. The deal was such a blessing from God, showing just one more way that He is providing for our every need! And once the decision was made, Chris started getting to work! First project, clearing the round weed/flower spot in the backyard!

And hard work deserves good rest!

St. Patty's Day

St. Patrick's Day fell on a youth group night, so we celebrated with a green competition! We also had a eating competition, where the students had to predict how many bites they could eat a mysterious food. It started off easy with green bananas, broccoli, brussel sprouts and the game ended with a jalepeno pepper. The kids were real troopers!

Insane.

1st Ultrasound!

Today, Chris and I made our first trip to the hospital to get our first pics of Baby C!!! I was so nervous and excited at the same time!!! I'm telling ya... I'm still in disbelief!!! I have been so blessed so far in the pregnancy and haven't had to deal with the dreaded morning sickness... thank you Jesus!! (And again, predictions are abundant that I'm having a boy because of this!) There's only been a few times where I've been a little sick to my stomach, but never felt the urge to rush to the bathroom. And it's usually in the evening time. I haven't really had any food aversions, although cooking didn't always sound like a good idea after coming home from work a few times! The only thing I've really noticed is how TIRED I am. I'm not much of a napper, but this baby has drained the energy out of me!!!! But I'm very thankful with how easy my first trimester has been so far!!! And very thankful at how awesome my hubby is!!! He has taken such good care of me... like there was ever a doubt!!

Anyway... I have pics to share!!!! Sorry the quality is so bad, but we don't have a scanner, so I had to take pics of the hard copies with my phone!! But you get the idea!!! Introducing... Baby C!!

Our little peanut!

His/Her hand up to the forehead... if that doesn't say GIRL (drama queen) I don't know what does!! Haha!!

Froggie legs!!! :-)

Ana's Bridal Shower weekend

Jack, Barbara, Chris and I all packed up in the truck and headed down to Vancouver for the weekend of March 6th! Ana was having a bridal shower, so what better reason to make a trip down! All of us girls got out of the house around noon and made a trip to Beaverton to pick up my bridesmaid dress and to our surprise, Ana's wedding dress was in!! She was pretty excited to show her mom her dress, but then when we found out her dress was actually in and she was able to try it on for her... it meant alot!! :-) After picking up the dresses, we headed to the bridal shower! Luckily, we didn't have to play too many crazy games... since I love them oh, so much! Not! But the food was good, it was a gorgeous day for it, I was able to see quite a few folks that I haven't seen in awhile... it was good times!! May 15th is going to be here before we know it!!!

Alexis getting in on the self-portrait action!

LOVE IT!!! She's been trained well!! Haha!!

Dang, I miss these girls!!

Update

So... about a month ago, Super Bowl weekend to be exact, Chris and I made a little trip down to Vancouver/Portland to visit the fam. Ana and Paul invited us to go to an open house at the venue where they're getting married and Ana and I planned to go dress shopping! Chris and I also had plans to go to the Shane Co. to get my ring fixed for the 4th time! We lost faith in the Lynnwood store after they screwed it up twice! Anyway, so we headed out there early Saturday morning to drop off the ring and then headed to Camas to meet up with Ana and Paul. But on the way there, we made a little pit stop at Fred Meyer's to pick something up. You see, I had this feeling...

And come to find out, the feeling was "positive"!!! :-) I've never been to regular, so I wasn't too surprised to be a little late, but with me shopping for a bridesmaid dress later that afternoon, I wanted to be 100% positive so I could pick out an appropriate dress!!! So Chris and I picked up the test on the way to Camas, feeling like complete dorks because we were walking through the store with a pregnancy test, and neither one of us had our rings on because they were at the Shane Co. getting beautified!! So we left the test in the truck while we checked out the open house, and the whole time my mind was flooded with what might be to come!

After the open house, I went straight into the bathroom, while Chris suffered in the bedroom, waiting for the outcome. It went to positive almost immediately, and I had to check the directions several times to make sure I was really seeing a positive. My mind was blown! I went out and got Chris and made him come in the bathroom and immediately started crying tears of joy!!! It's still pretty surreal even now!! So we collected ourselves and went outside to tell the fam, and Chris pretty much busted out "Stacie's pregnant!" in the most blunt way possible!! I, of course, started crying again, but it was pretty darn hilarious!!! So Ana, Jayden and I now had the task of finding a bridesmaid dress that would fit a 5 mos. pregnant chick!! And I think we did pretty darn good, if I don't say so myself!! The belly will fit fine... now if the chest area fits, that's got me a little more concerned! Ha!!!

That evening Chris and I headed into Portland to meet up with the Craft family at the bowling alley, and then back to the house for a little bit where I spilled the news to them!! I was pretty proud of the way I dropped it on Violet. I was showing her a picture online of the dress that I picked out for the wedding and explained that it was tough to pick out, because I didn't know how big I was going to be in May. She slowly shut her computer and looked up and was like, are you serious!? hehe! Yep!!!

Telling my mom was pretty fun, too. She loves the Willow Tree figurines and Chris and I gother one for Christmas, and we were joking about getting her the one of the pregnant lady. Well, we ended up sending her a picture of the pregnant Willow Tree figurine to her cell phone with no explanation. It wasn't long before I got a call, asking if I was trying to tell her something!? Again... yep! And immediately the tears flowed on both sides of the phone!! :-) I wish I could have been there to see her face!!!

When we got back to PA on Sunday evening, we headed straight to Jack & Barbara's to pick up Gracie, so of course, Chris and I had it all planned how we would tell them, too! At one point, Chris thanked them and said he was glad they enjoyed taking care of Gracie, because they'd have another one to take care to babysit pretty soon!!! Barbara's mouth dropped and the hugs began!! Telling folks was so much fun!! :-) But we purposely kept it to just family and our pastor and his wife for quite awhile.

Our first doctor's appt. was on March 5th and we wanted to hear it from the doctor that everything was okay before we got too vocal about our news! The appointment went really well! I hadn't established a doctor in PA yet, so it was my first time meeting Dr. Hennessey and Chris and I both really liked her!! They said I was about 10 weeks, so there was a slight chance that we would be able to hear the heartbeat, but it wasn't guaranteed. To our surprise, we heard it loud and clear!! It was SO strong... and fast!!! Baby C was beating about 160 beats a minute!!! So of course, the predictions started... fast heartbeats mean boys... yada, yada, yada. That would make Chris super happy!!! I'm pulling for a girl, but truth is... Chris and I are going to so excited for whatever we have, and that baby is going to be loved SO incredibly much!!!!!

So here goes nothing! Life is never going to be the same!!! My dreams are finally coming true!!!!

FBY Winter Retreat

So, it's been a few years, more like 15+ years, since I've been on a high school winter retreat. It was interesting being on the other side... the responsible adult, leading small group times, being the watchful eye, etc. But being on the other side didn't change the fact that it was still a lot of fun!! I'm really enjoying my role as youth pastor's wife!

Our winter retreat is combined with IBC here in PA, Sequim Bible and then a youth group in Port Orchard, so it's fun to have a large, mixed group! We took them up to Mt. Baker where we had 2 days full of boarding, tubing, exploring, etc. All of our kids chose to tube both days, so that made it easy for Chris and I! It never ceases to amaze me how high school kids have no fear! They were basically tubing off a cliff... there wasn't much incline... but they were having a blast, and I tried to keep my worrying to a minimum! Praise God we had no injuries!! Aside from the mountain, our speaker was great, the worship was fabulous and our cabin time was amazing! The only tough thing was the lack of sleep. We had 6:45am leader meetings... and when you're in a room with about 20 teenage girls, going to bed at a decent time is not likely. The first night they crashed pretty well, but the 2nd night was full of musical melodies of Disney and High School Musical! It was a fun weekend, but I was definitely excited to get back to the comforts of my own home!
